LE WEEKEND

June 11 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Sandwhich event 3

‘Sandwich goes French for Le Weekend’. An authentic French Market; free outdoor concerts; street dancing; Anglo French Medieval encampment on the Quay Green and cyclists ride Le Tour de Sandwich on Sunday 12th. Craft fair in St Peters Church.

At the heart of Le weekend is an authentic French Market with numerous stalls from Normandy traveling to England to sell their wares: products ranging from foods and spices and soaps to clothes, rugs and leather goods. A lively street scene includes music and dance, with visiting French musicians travelling to Sandwich, backed up by local musicians playing French themed sets on an outdoor stage. A brocante in the medieval St Peters Church offers an indoor attraction. Our local medieval group enjoys a two day encampment on the Quay Green and invites other reenactors from England and from France to join in, making it an exciting two day experience. It’s entertaining, educational and a significant event in its own right. Visit the medieval centre complete with working blacksmith and bakery and see the ongoing construction of the medieval ship, the cog Nicholas.

Government Update

Dear Guest

As you may be aware the government has introduced new rules and regulations. This means we now require guests to wear a mask upon entering the building and to wear around the communal areas; if you have a seat at the bar you can at that point remove the mask until you leave the table. Please note the bar is strictly table service so please do not approach the bar to order drinks.

We have disposable face masks at reception should you need one, please just ask.

We will now be closing at 22:00 instead of 23:00 so we are in line with the new instructed close time.

This will all be effective as of the 23rd September (Thursday).

Kind regards, The Clarendon Hotel Management
